Homes & holiday lodges may also be referred to generically as prefabricated homes, modular homes or even log cabins. There follows some basic definitions:
 
Prefabricated homes also referred to as ‘prefab homes’ are manufactured in a factory rather than on a construction site. A prefab home nowadays does not mean “cheap” or of poor architecture. Modern designs are flexible, bespoke and luxurious and are often very cost effective due to the nature of the way they are built.
 
Another term used is modular housing or a modular home. This describes the way that they are prebuilt in sub-blocks, rooms or sections then fitted together on site. This type of house is more efficient to build than conventional properties and is very popular in Europe, Canada and the USA. Due to the way the Wessex Park Homes and holiday lodges are manufactured they can be classed both as prefabricated or modular homes.
 
By definition, a log cabin is a small dwelling made of logs. Traditional style log cabins were typically of simple design and quite small. Nowadays, modern timber log cabins or holiday lodges, as they are known, are far more design led and luxurious. The Wessex lodges range is no exception to this rule, with a vast range of choice plus designs and styles to cater for everyone’s taste.
